In the first couple Fraud in America stories, we have covered Young New York Trump and some basic Trump fraud.  But when did the gaslighting / Fraud start? 

         Well, let's see, it didn’t take long. No sir it didn’t take long, how about one more from SNL.

             Trump’s first term was marked by extensive ethics and corruption concerns, largely tied to his refusal to divest from his businesses, resulting in nearly 4,000 documented conflicts of interest. Independent watchdogs also identified significant waste, abuse, and improper conduct across federal agencies during that period. According to Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), Trump’s decision not to divest from the Trump Organization opened the door to unprecedented conflicts of interest, such as:

Foreign officials and lobbyists booking rooms and events at Trump properties.

Trump visited his own properties hundreds of times while in office.

Government agencies (e.g., Secret Service) spending taxpayer money at Trump-owned hotels and clubs.

Trump earned over $1.6 billion in outside income during his first term.

                 

               Prosecutors allege that Trump orchestrated a hush‑money scheme to influence the 2016 election, and that he falsified business records to conceal it. This conduct spans the campaign and his first term, and prosecutors explicitly tie parts of the scheme to his time in the White House. 

         A DOJ watchdog found that during Trump’s first term, the Justice Department secretly obtained phone and email records of two-House Democrats, dozens of congressional staffers, and journalists. Failed to follow internal procedures or obtain proper high‑level approval.

             Understand that Trump won the White House on the back of him being “the great businessman”. Let’s not forget it was on the coat tails of Mark Burnett’s “The Apprentice” TV show. So, in a way the American voter got a 2 in 1 deal, a businessman as well as a self-made Millionaire.

            As America entered the era of Trump so came the famous words Fake News, and let’s not forget Alternate facts, and that’s where politics in In America hit the skids. The idea that the world of media gave Trump and his goons a chance to spread his bullshit without a hair of proof or evidence, all for the sake of corporate profits, and America swallowed it hook line and sinker. Yes, America went from Obama, to Trump, or as some would say, America went from “Class to an Ass” .
