The Real Cost of Those Eggs pt.68

Multiple analyses including Kamala Harris warned that Project 2025 includes policies that would dramatically weaken independent journalism and expand government power over media. Here are some key concerns raised by journalists and researchers.

Expanded surveillance of journalists and sources: Reporting suggests Project 2025 would allow increased spying and prosecution of reporters and whistleblowers.

Restructuring federal agencies to control information flow: The plan outlines reorganizing government communications in ways critics say could centralize message control.

Defining mainstream media as adversarial: The Columbia Journalism Review notes that the plan frames the press as an obstacle to be neutralized.

Weakening public broadcasting and local journalism: Analyses argue that Project 2025’s reforms would reduce funding and independence for public radio and local outlets.

Criminalizing leaks and dissent: Commentators warn that the plan could make it easier to prosecute those who share information with the press

Do you think the Stephen Colbert orJimmy Kimmel issues were flukes? No, it's all about the money and the kissing of Trumps Ass, and for corporate gains. The merger between Paramount and Skydance has become deeply entangled with Trump’s political influence, regulatory power, and his long‑running battles with major news outlets, but never Fox.

Let’s add another Trump Hack’s comment, FCC Chair Brendan Carr said the merger was needed because “Americans no longer trust the legacy national news media”

                                           Tick, Tick, Tick

60 Minutes debuted in 1968, created by Don Hewitt, and it pioneered a reporter‑centered investigative style that made its correspondents as recognizable as the stories they covered. These reporters helped define the program’s signature tone: tough, skeptical, and personality‑driven.

Harry Reasoner — one of the original hosts, known for his calm, analytical delivery.

Mike Wallace — became the face of the show with his aggressive interview style.

Morley Safer — joined in 1970, bringing a more literary, human‑centered approach.

Ed Bradley — brought depth, global reporting, and a groundbreaking presence as one of the first Black correspondents on a major newsmagazine.

Lesley Stahl — joined in 1991; known for political reporting and long‑form investigations.

Anderson Cooper— Joined 60 Minutes in 2006

Christiane Amanpour—Joined 60 Minutes in 1996

Steve Kroft — became a leading interviewer, including multiple presidential profiles.

Scott Pelley — former CBS Evening News anchor, known for war reporting.

Bill Whitaker — covers criminal justice, technology, and global issues.

Sharyn Alfonsi — investigative reporter known for hard‑hitting field pieces.

Cecilia Vega — one of the newest correspondents, joining the team as it enters a new era.

60 Minutes remains one of the most‑watched and most influential news programs in the U.S., and the latest ratings data shows it is still a powerhouse. The show averaged 8.32 million viewers across the 2024–2025 season, making it the most‑watched news program in the United States for the 51st consecutive season.

So are you watching or Listering NOW ?

United States Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett has warned about threats to free speech in the United Kingdom…“Think about what’s happening with respect to free speech rights in the U.K.,” Barrett said during a discussion about the purpose of law. “Contrary opinions or opinions that are not in the mainstream are not being tolerated, and they’re even being criminalized. Because of the First Amendment, that can’t happen here.”…

                          And for Chirstmass Trump says

Trump has threatened to terminate the broadcast licenses of major networks that cover him and his political allies unfavorably."If Network NEWSCASTS, and their Late Night Shows, are almost 100% Negative to President Donald J. Trump, MAGA, and the Republican Party, shouldn't their very valuable Broadcast Licenses be terminated? I say, "YES!" Trump wrote on Truth Social early on Wednesday. He Rants on, "Who has the worst Late Night host, CBS, ABC, or NBC??? They all have three things in common: High Salaries, No Talent, REALLY LOW RATINGS!" "Now, after being terminated by CBS, but left out to dry, he has actually gotten worse, along with his nonexistent ratings," , He goes on, "Stephen is running on hatred and fumes—A dead man walking! CBS should, 'put him to sleep,' NOW, it is the humanitarian thing to do!"

As we know, Trump launched legal actions against a number of major media outlets this year. Earlier this month, he filed a $10 billion lawsuit against the BBC over its editing of one of his speeches for a 2021 Panorama documentary. The president also refiled a $15 billion defamation lawsuit against The New York Times and three of its reporters in October.

Don’t forget his favorite, "The Failing New York Times, and their lies and purposeful misrepresentations, is a serious threat to the National Security of our Nation. Their Radical Left, Unhinged Behavior, writing FAKE Articles and Opinions in a never ending way, must be dealt with and stopped. THEY ARE A TRUE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE!".

In case  you haven’t noticed, everything Trump doesn't like is either:

                                     A Risk to National Security.

                                                     OR

B True Enemy of The State

Keeping in the spirit of the season and with 2025 coming to a close it’s not all bad news. I feel that since August that even his once starched supporters of Orange Glow are waking up from their Trump induced slumber. What did Trump's buddy  Laura Loomer say?

Believe her or not you have to add to that Marjorie Talyor Green standing up against Trump, The Indiana State Senate, told Trump fuck off even with all his threats. In that column you have to add the voters who came out to take seats away from the party of Trump. All the polling that shines a ray of sunshine for the future of America.
