The Real Cost of Those Eggs pt.89
I could write about this, or maybe this story which when I first heard it made my blood boil. But actually, if you combine the two stories it helps to answer the question title of this article.
A major Pew Research Center study reports that only 17% of Americans say they trust the federal government to do what’s right “always” or “most of the time.” This is one of the lowest levels recorded since the question began in the 1950s. Sorry to say but, Americans' trust in government has been fading for years. With help from, the Vietnam War
Watergate, the Economic crises, the Iraq War and the 2008 financial crisis.
Let’s go back to the Pew Research Center study for today that reports that only 8% of Americans trust its government today. Really, that high? Gee, what could be bothering people about Trump?
Across multiple sources, the most commonly cited reasons Americans report not trusting Trump include:
Perceptions of dishonesty
High disapproval ratings
Frequent negative news exposure
Concerns about leadership on global issues
A national climate of distrust and polarization
The broader decline in trust toward government institutions
