The Real Cost of Those Eggs pt.44
For all those who find themselves up at ass o’clock in the morning to check the wanted ads, or online to Zip Recruiter saying, “I can do that” . Enter the Trump 2.0 Administration, the only qualifications you need are knee pads and a family size bottle of Lubo, actually the whole Republican party has the same skill set.
I could start with Dr. Oz This former heart surgeon & daytime TV doctor turned politician will be in charge of nearly $1.5 trillion in federal healthcare spending. His duties will entail overseeing Medicare, Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), including directing decisions related to how the government covers procedures, hospital stays and medication, as well as the reimbursement rates at which healthcare providers get paid for their services.
Dr Oz previously made statements where he seemingly supported spacing out childhood vaccines and appeared to have a vague stance on whether vaccines cause autism - a theory which has been debunked. Though on his show measles, mumps, and rubella shots were all endorsed by Oz. Near the beginning of the Covid pandemic, Dr Oz promoted anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine as a COVID-19 treatment which Trump also described as a "game-changer" despite warnings from medical experts. Oz has also been sued many times, the most famous one was the “Green Coffee Bean diet” But at least he was a real doctor.
To bad we can’t say the same for the HHS Secretary
He became a prominent environmental attorney, serving as chief prosecuting attorney for the environmental group Riverkeeper and working on clean water advocacy through the Natural Resources Defense Council.
So the key words are: environmental attorney, no where do you see any mention of a medical background, which would enhance his position of HHS Secretary, and make America feel it a bit better. But sorry we are talking about the Trump 2.0 Administration. Now to be fair it’s only been six months since RFK Jr. took the reins, So how has he done so far:
Threat to measles elimination status:Measles elimination was declared in the U.S. in 2000. However, current trends raise significant concern that the U.S. may lose its elimination status if this resurgence continues KFFAP NewsCNN.
As of July 22, 2025, the CDC has confirmed 1,319 measles cases across 40 jurisdictions By August 5, 2025, this number rose to 1,356 confirmed cases in 41 jurisdictions These totals mark the highest annual case count since 1992
Outbreaks: There have been 29 outbreaks in 2025, up from 16 in 2024About 87–89% of cases are associated with outbreaks CDCAAP
Vaccination status: The vast majority of cases—over 90%—occurred in individuals who were unvaccinated or whose vaccination status was unknown The Wall Street
Among kindergartners, MMR vaccine coverage dropped from 95.2% (2019–2020) to 92.7% (2023–2024)—below the 95% herd immunity threshold CDCAP Union.
So close yet so far
mRNA stands for messenger RNA — it’s a type of genetic material that your cells naturally use as instructions to make proteins. mRNA is important because it’s the body’s universal “instruction manual” for making proteins, and science has figured out how to harness it for fast, targeted medical treatments — especially vaccines.
Researchers can “program” mRNA to:
Trigger an immune response to viruses (COVID-19, flu, RSV, etc.)Teach the immune system to recognize cancer cells Produce missing or defective proteins for genetic disordersPotentially treat diseases that are currently incurable
Was in research today
Instead of preventing infection, these vaccines train the immune system to attack tumor-specific proteins:
Melanoma – personalized mRNA vaccines to prevent recurrence after surgeryLung cancer – targeting proteins unique to cancer cellsPancreatic cancer – mRNA programs in early trialsBreast, ovarian, and prostate cancers – multiple ongoing studies
Multiple sclerosis – mRNA therapies to “retrain” immune cells to stop attacking the body’s own tissues (animal trials show promise)Allergies & asthma – potential vaccines to desensitize the immune system to harmless triggers
What He Actually Did as HHS Secretary (2025)
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. halted federal mRNA vaccine research because he claims the technology is unsafe, ineffective for respiratory viruses, and a misuse of public funds — but his reasoning runs counter to the overwhelming scientific consensus.
Canceled $500+ million in federal funding for mRNA research and development.Stopped 22 BARDA contracts, including late-stage trials for mRNA vaccines for flu, RSV, and oral COVID-19.Halted HIV mRNA vaccine trials, which were close to potential breakthroughs.
But, he's not a doctor!!!
So when you add it all up between Kennedy at HHS and some health rollbacks courtesy of Lee Zeldin at the EPA:
In March 2025, Zeldin announced what he termed the “largest deregulatory announcement in U.S. history,” including reconsidering the foundational 2009 Endangerment Finding—which deems greenhouse gases (GHGs) as threats to public health and forms the legal basis for climate regulation.
On July 29, 2025, he formally released a proposal to rescind the finding. This could invalidate over $1 trillion in regulations, including emissions standards for vehicles and the push for electric vehicles, with projected savings of up to $54 billion annually
Rolling back limits on “forever chemicals” in drinking water and prioritizing compliance. The agency is also moving to terminate $7 billion in “Solar for All” climate grants aimed at expanding solar access in underserved areas.
Now yes, I know “We are all going to die” but do we really need our government to help push it along?
