Long story short, I used to love going to our local Episcopal church, back then I had my business running so the hour spent at mass every Sunday gave me a solace. Plus it was a small congregation, so the sense of community was confronting. That was fine till the topic of money and God came up. I remember asking Father Dustin, “Will God still love me if I only give 9% of my earnings?”

The answer of course is yes.

But my point is who makes up these numbers?

Churches don’t pay any taxes

And starting pay for a Episcopal Priest is $53 K 

Now before you start replying back, “fuck you Joe you Communist!!” 

Let me finish

I dated a woman once who was into the church of TBN. type of Religion.

I figured It’s America to each his own. For starters the congregation or at least for that night was about four thousand people. The music was blaring and spotlights shining into the crowd. It seemed more like a concert event than a service. When Paul and Jan Crouch came out to read the opening prayer, Paul congratulated the worshippers, “For keeping the local TBN under budget.” When I said “I didn’t realize that God was on a  budget”  That’s when the night went downhill real fast it was either that, or when that passed the plate the 4th time in 10 minutes that gave this night away. I asked my date how long this service will last? She replied about 3 hours, Or to put it simply at $2. At the plate, about $100 bucks, and yes they take credit cards. I will be right back, I picked her up 3 hours later.

That brings us to the latest white Christian nationalist Pastor, who just opened a church just blocks away from the White House. Doug Wilson.

Some of Wilson greatest hits are 

Women’s Role: Priority of the Home: Though he maintains that a woman’s priority is the home, Wilson acknowledges that she may contribute beyond domestic responsibilities. He often points to the Proverbs 31 woman—who conducts business, considers real estate, and acts as a merchant ship—as a biblical model of a woman whose activities align with and bless her family.

Submission and Household Authority: In his 1999 Federal Husband, Wilson argues that a husband — as federal head — bears spiritual responsibility for his wife. He also recommends that if a wife appears rebellious (even over tasks like doing the dishes), a husband should gently remind her, and if that fails, involve church elders in a pastoral visit.

Cultural & Political Sphere: Wilson asserts that giving women the right to vote has undermined family authority and societal order. He believes this shift further eroded male representation and led to a collapse in covenantal masculinity. Wilson laments the rise of women in civil or societal authority, suggesting that although the Bible doesn’t explicitly ban women from leadership (citing Deborah as a biblical exception), frequent feminine leadership signals cultural decline—not a blessing.

         Again, like TBN, this is still America (emphasis on still) you have your choice of who and what you follow. Pastor Wilson, like Trump, is trying to bring America back to the “Leave To Beaver Days”.  Amen
