The Real Cost of Those Eggs pt.77
Many allies saw the Board of Peace as a parallel institution that could weaken or replace the UN’s authority. TIME reports that European leaders rejected the invitation specifically because they believed the Board could undermine the UN, despite the UN Security Council having endorsed the Gaza plan itself. The Vatican echoed this, calling the Board a “UN knock‑off” and warning that crisis management should remain under UN leadership
Put simply, U.S. allies stayed away because they saw the Board of Peace as: too Trump‑centric, too powerful, too unpredictable, too disruptive to exist global institutions
You ask, who voted Trump as the head of the Board of Peace?
Silly you, No one voted Donald Trump into the leadership of the Board of Peace. He was not elected by member states, and there was no vote of any kind. Trump appointed himself as chair because the Board of Peace is his initiative, created under his Gaza peace plan, and structured so that he retains control. (side note: Palestinians killed since Trump's Gaza peace plan no exact number but estimates our above 800)
The American Taxpayers donate 10 Billion Trump’s board of peace
Trump is attempting to take the money from taxpayer funds, essentially creating a presidential slush fund — but emphasizes that he does not have congressional approval, which is legally required.
How much money does the Board of Peace have on hand?
The Board of Peace currently has between $6.5 billion and $7 billion in confirmed pledges from member countries, not including Trump’s proposed (but not yet approved) $10 billion from the United States. Let’s remember that to join the TBP. It costs 1 Billion dollars. At least 22 countries attended the signing ceremony at Davos. At least 35 countries have publicly accepted the invitation to join. More than two dozen countries participated in the inaugural summit in Washington.
Who is going to control Where and How this money is spent?
Trump has outlined how he wants to spend the Board of Peace money, but the plan is broad, politically controlled, and still missing many specifics. What we do know comes directly from the Board’s launch statements and the Gaza reconstruction framework.
(side note: Key world like everything Trump still missing many specifics)
At the Board inaugural meeting rebuilding Gaza after the war.
This includes:
Infrastructure rebuilding (roads, power, water, hospitals)
Humanitarian relief (food, medical supplies, shelter)
Housing reconstruction
Restoring basic services
The Board is designed to oversee Gaza’s transition under a technocratic Palestinian administration. Funding would support:
Administrative salaries
Civil service operations
Oversight mechanisms
